Know what I love?

Kitt Shapiro in her store WEST

Know what I love?❣️ I love shopping small businesses. In fact, I love it so much that I actually bought a local retail store. Yes. Call me crazy (believe me my husband certainly has), but I am so passionate about the importance of #shoplocal that I stepped into that arena.

Now don’t get me wrong, I shop online as well. And like many, I receive a fair share of  Amazon boxes, but I don’t believe ‘online’ will lead to the demise of ‘brick and mortar’.🛍

Humans need contact with each other, whether we like it or not, and local businesses are a part of the tapestry of our communities. Often operated by women, they are connected to the residents and patrons in ways automation and computers can never replicate.  Local business owners know their customers and CARE about them. And don’t we all want to be around people who care? I believe we do. 😊

So, wherever YOU live, spread some #love and get to know some of YOUR local shops. They have made a commitment to the town and the people who live there. Return the favor. Support them. You may just make a new friend. 😄

And, if you find yourself in Westport, come in to WEST and say hi. 🤗

Here are some of my favorite places in my town: Granola Bar, Bungalow, JLRocks, OPEX, Specs, Savvy and Grace, Organic Market, Organachs, Cake Box, Le Rouge Chocolates. Most of them are also #womenowned. 😄 Check them out if you’re in the area.

Remember ~ Treasure ~ Love…. Kitt

I truly LOVE what you are doing. Loved your Mom so much and enjoy her books. I’m not doing well financially RIGHT NOW…I know for certain in my mind and heart this is only temporary as God has blessed me with many talents that I need to pursue. When there is a turnaround, investing in your items is something I look forward to. Bless you Kitt!

I thought your interview was wonderful. The relationship you and your mom had was indeed special. I’m a black but my dad is mixed. I also have a daughter that is mixed but looks white. I can’t tell you how I had to overcome the comments of having a white looking child. It use to hurt because some people I have come across had been so rude. I have been through so much in my life but hearing your interview touched my heart. My mom loved your mom’s voice, her movies and from what she ssid, she was quite a wonderful women. Thank you for the wonderful interview and I’m glad you still keep your mom’s memories alive. I wish I could talk with you in person. You seem so wonderful. Thank you Kitt. Hope to hear from you.

Dear Kitt..I happened upon your interview purely by accident and am so glad I did. My birth date Feb 15 popped up at your website. Eartha Mae is so many of us who never had the heart or good fortune to become Eartha. So here I am vicariously enjoying her Kittisms
and staying young at heart enjoying me.
